Temasek and Bayer Invested US$30M Into Vertical Farming Startup

They are equal shareholders into a company called Unfold

Removing the investing, marketing and sciencey-speak: Unfold is a company focusing on vertical farming, but more importantly also uses analytics and a giant bank of genetic information like seeds to make better crops (germplasm). They will be headquartered in California with additional operations in Singapore.

The company will focus on lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, with seeds for some crops expected to be ready for sale within months.

A reminder why this is important and you’ll see more news like this soon: Singapore has a goal to produce 30% of nutritional needs by 2030. Also, climate change is a thing and if we don’t do anything we might actually start eating humans for nutrition, as suggested by some scientists
